Good grief, it’s only 11 o’clock – I’ve been up for 7 hours already. Kes is asleep on the sofa and I’m here at the computer typing a few weary words on the last 24 hours. Actually the last 24 hours started 29 hours ago as Duncan was picking us up at 7 to squash us into his car to take us off to Avebury for the solstice. It’s one of these sort of days that turn out to be a bit of a blur – you have a natter over a cup of tea, fling up a tent, drink a celebration 6x, play a few tunes round the gas stove and hey presto it’s lunch time. Pint in the Red Lion, Gorsedd time, a bit of socialising and a few more tunes – who forwarded the time to 8 o’clock. I’m rather whisking through this but it’s a bit how it felt and the old brain box isn’t quite firing on all neurons. After the sunset observance we were treated to the Kings drummers who put on a reenactment of the birth of the Phoenix. After that and a bit of nattering round about the camp stove we only had about 3 hours for a rather broken nap before we were up again to see the dawn in. It just a fleeting note for a big day but there’s albums of pictures for you to have a wee look at which I hope will illluminate my scribbling here. Thanks to Jan and Duncan for the weekend, without whom it would just have been a trip by bus on Saturday, thanks to everyone else whose company we had over the weekend and of course to Kes (xx)

What broken nap…. the egg laying woman in the next tent was screeching the arrival of yet another egg every ten minutes. Dawn observance to see the Sun was a case of cloud watching, made very funny by a large group of revellers on the top of the henge cheering the sunrise every ten minutes – didn\’t know we had 6 suns, did you! We were correctly guided by the Arch Druid of Avebury – Terry Dobney who works on Terry Time and does everything to the second! As you can gather I\’m no longer snoozing on the sofa my love x x x x
"yes a very good day" loved it, shame that photo\’s cant give a real feeling of it all,
